Love Love Love !!!

‘Let all that you do be done in LOVE.” 1 Corinthians 16:14

This little piece of scripture says it all. It’s straight forward and an easy reminder that in all that we do , we must do it with love. Nothing more, nothing less. When we wake up in the morning to make breakfast or take out the trash, do it with LOVE! An early morning headed to work? Go to work emanating LOVE. God’s  love for us is unconditional, and if we showed even a portion of that loved to everyone and in all that we do we are bound for happiness and love in return from those around us.

Give Thanks!

This was my bible verse for the day. A beautiful reminder to constantly give thanks through all situations.When it seems no one is there, call upon God! He hears our prayers and is always there for us. We must remember to always be a witness for the Lord and let our little lights shine for all to see!

Fun in the Oakland Sun !

This weekend Riley and I spent some quality mommy-daughter time together. We went to the park, ate lunch with friends, explored the farmers market and cuddled on the couch. It was wonderful! Now we’re just ready for “dada” to get home. Hurry, Hurry!!! Here are a few instagram photos from the weekend.  (Note: yes, that is a quinoa salad with pomegranate and persimmon! Delicious might I add)

Baby Style!

I’m very picky when it comes to what I put Riley in. Aren’t all mommy’s? I’m also very picky when it comes to how much I’m paying for her clothes. Aren’t MOST mommy’s? They grow so quickly, and it doesn’t make sense to spend too much on their adorable little growing feet and bodies. That being said, I’ve found my go to stores! They have adorable clothes and always seem to have a sale going! The first is GAP BABY! They always have a great selection and an even better return policy. ZARA BABY, is the second store I discovered. It’s definitely the more stylish of the 2. I usually order online because that’s where they have the best bargains. Their sizing is also perfect for us, so I don’t have to second guess. I recently scored some gorgeous boots for her at 50% off! Hope you enjoy these stores as much as I do! Don’t get into too much trouble now ;)

Mommy Must Have!!!

Something that was difficult for me during the early stages of motherhood was being handsfree ! I couldn’t find the time to do anything but hold baby (not that I minded). I then stumbled upon a miracle ! The Solly Baby Wrap! Riley loved being in it and I loved that I could multitask. They come in so many beautiful colors, and  are extremely stylish! I would actually wear mine as a scarf around my neck until I would need it, nobody would know ! Cool party trick right? JOKING. This wrap saved me during the first couple of months and I’m therefore declaring it a “Mommy Must Have.” I’ve included a link to the site below. ENJOY!

6 months!!!

Riley is 6 months old today! I am almost in tears writing this as I can’t believe how fast the time has gone! It’s been an amazing ride so far watching our little girl grow. In these short few months of life she has began eating solids,crawling and she is just simply aware! Aware that we are her parents, aware of people, places and things and aware that she is truly loved. Having a daughter has definitely taught my husband and I to “stop and smell the roses.” We have started to cherish each moment and are continuing to enjoy and give thanks to the Lord for our happy little family. Riley is the biggest light in our lives and I wouldn’t change it for the world. We love you baby girl!

Jazz Up Your Rice!

Looking for a way to jazz up a boring old pot of rice? I made up this easy fix!

In a food processor combine half of a yellow onion, 8 cloves of garlic and 1 tablespoon of fresh ginger.

Chop it up!

Add into your rice mixture and proceed as you normally would!

(measurements are for 8 cups of rice! so, make sure you use less of the ingredients if you’re making less)

I promise that this simple change will make an extremely delicious difference!

Simply A Must!!! (A domestic pleasure)

I have come across the most amazing laundry detergent… no really… it’s incredible. I now get excited to wash laundry because of the outcome of my clothes and linens after I wash them. Sounds ridiculous, but you have to trust me on this one.

Okay on to the post…

It’s called “Charlie’s Soap”

It’s a powder detergent (I normally despise a powder detergent) that is non hypoallergenic, non toxic and is made with a few ingredients. One being Coconut oil! The detergent demands that you use only ONE tablespoon per large load. Unbelievable right? I thought so too.

It gets better… They also suggest that you don’t use any sort of fabric softener.

With my soul full of doubt I tried this product and was completely amazed! The clothes came out soft,clean and better than they’ve ever felt before.

At $10 for a small container that washes 80 loads sans fabric softener, you can’t go wrong!

Beef… It’s whats for dinner!

Last night I set out to make a beef stew using a recipe I found online. A blown up pot and a grocery store trip later, I began to prepare one of the most hearty and delicious meals i’ve ever made. The preparation is super easy, the total cook time does however take about 2 1/2 hours… TOTALLY WORTH IT. This is definitely a great dish to make on a cold and gloomy day, it warms your soul :)
