A Weeks Worth!

The past week has been a busy one. It’s been quite hectic but extremely fun nonetheless. Riley, my in laws and a few close friends watched my husband and the Warriors fight their butts off to make it to game 7 in the 2nd round of the playoffs. It was an extremely close game, but in the end our guys were tired and simply needed rest. They accomplished more this season than any of the critics and media thought they would. We had 0% chance of even making it to the playoffs! Next season is going to be incredible so get ready Warriors fans!

After a whirlwind season, we hopped on a red eye the following evening and headed to Charlotte, NC (our hometown). I was there attending a blogging seminar. It was great and I learned some great tips that I can’t wait to implement into my blog. I literally went from the airport, changed at the house and went straight to the seminar. We were then able to spend the rest of the weekend with our family. It was AWESOME!!! Riley got some much needed grandparents time on monday while Stephen and I had a date day!

What did we do?

Naturally, we went to the arcade to play games and then hit some softballs at the batting cages. Chic Fil A for lunch? Why yes of course! We ended off our date by seeing The Great Gatsby at a great theatre in Charlotte called “Cinebarre”. COOLEST PLACE EVER! They have a full food and drink menu and you can order and eat in your seats while you watch the film!

The craziness continued the next morning when my little family hopped on a 7 am flight and headed back to the bay just in time to head to (GET THIS) the Mayor’s office! Stephen was presented with the key to the city! Such an honor. It was amazing to see the city come out and support the Warriors for their wonderful accomplishments this season. I was definitely a proud wife, as I see all of the hard work he puts in on a daily basis. Everyone at the event was warm and welcoming and you could genuinely feel what a great place the city of San Francisco and the bay area is. We are so happy to be living here!

Well that’s all I have for now! I am off to the dentist… yikes! Here are a couple of photos and links to vine videos from over the weekend. Enjoy!

Everyday Makeup

Hey guys! I hope the week has been treating you well! We have been super busy over here in the Curry house. We just got back from San Antonio and are settling back in. I wanted to quickly share with you guys what makeup I use on a daily basis. These are the products I carry around with me in my purse and travel with. I almost have no time to get ready each day with a 9 month old ALMOST running around. If you have 3 mins, you’ll be able to apply these products and not worry about looking crazy! Let me know if you use any of the products.  Enjoy!

Products

1) Suki Tinted Moisturizer

2) Hourglass Eyebrow pencil (I love a bold brow!)

3) Benefit “Speed Brow” Brow Gel

4) L’oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara (I’ve been using it since high school!)

5) Tarte Cheek Stain or Hourglass Bronze Light cream to powder bronzer (depends on how I am feeling that day, but I always use a non powder cheek product because its easier to apply)

6) All Natural Lip Balm (so I don’t have to worry about giving Riley any toxic kisses!) (I like the Honest Co lip balm in sweet orange vanilla!)

That’s pretty much it! If I am going to a game or out with my husband, I’ll usually spice it up a bit more but i’ll save that for another post.

(Clearly a little angel name Riley got into my bronzer compact!) See photo below photo copy 10

The Calm …

The next couple of days/weeks are going to be a whirlwind for my little family. “Dada” is headed to the playoffs after a long season of hard work, injuries, and almost sleepless nights. It’s so wonderful to be able to witness this amazing journey first hand. Seeing the effort my husband and his team put in on a daily basis and now watching it all pay off is simply unbelievable, but totally believable. If you know what I mean. All I can say is to God be all of the glory and the honor.

With that being said I will most likely be absent from the blog for the next 3 days, but will come back with hopefully great news and amazing photos and tidbits from our little adventure in Denver, Colorado. Before this hectic but exciting time we were able to spend a nice day together by the pool last week. We enjoyed salmon burgers and fries from Nations and soaked up some sun(lathered in The Honest Company sunscreen of course! See link below or on sidebar and try it!). Here are a couple of pictures from that day. I got Riley’s pool toys from Target! Enjoy!

Another Target Post

Hey guys!

The weather has been fantastic here in the bay lately, so I decided to pick up some fun spring outfits for Riley! Naturally, I went to Target! They currently have the most adorable mix and match pieces. I got a couple of colored lace shorts and cute tanks for her at $8 and $12 a piece. Not bad right?

Just wanted to share with you guys in case you were on the hunt for some cute spring baby apparel! Have a great weekend. Enjoy!

Riley and Mommy Take Stanford (well… for a couple of hours)

I had the wonderful opportunity to sit in on my new friend Jennifer Aaker’s class at Stanford GSB. She teaches “Designing For Happiness” at Stanford as the Professor of Marketing. I was so excited and of course jumped at the opportunity. Naturally, Riley was with me as I take her everywhere. Jennifer did help with a great babysitter to fill in during the 2 hour class. She was wonderful with Riley and they played in the grass with her toys right outside of the building. I cheated a little and had her send me text updates and photos throughout the class ( I’ll get there fully one day).

I first want to say that the class was amazing! From the syllabus, the class develops and rethinks ideas on how to “design products and rethink brands.” One exercise we did was to come up with words that immediately evoke a sense of happiness in ourselves; specifically a word, a company, and a brand. My picks were family, Honest Company, and Little Lights of Mine (is that a brand? It could be…!)

I hope I get a chance to make it back up there and sit in again. I learned so much in that short time. (If you’re reading this, thank you Jennifer!). Second, the campus is BEAUTIFUL. It was my first time getting to explore such a large campus. It was beautifully kept and there were some really cool features at the Graduate School of Business. Until next time! :)

Here are a couple of photos from the day! Enjoy!

FUNdamentals!

Here is a little video I took of Riley playing basketball with her dada after the win last night! You’ve got to start them early people! (Kidding) … My true dream would be for Riley to be an equestrian and take after her grandma and auntie and play volleyball ;) … We’ll leave that up to her to decide though. Click the link below. Enjoy!

Game Winning Salmon!

I hope I don’t jinx myself with the title, but this salmon recipe is truly delicious and my husband did win a big game the night after I made this meal… so I’m sticking with the title.

This is another great quick and easy salmon recipe that takes about 30 mins total. I am all about a sweet and savory dinner. This recipe is just that! I cut out majority of the bad fat by using coconut oil. The fish came out moist and buttery without using any actual butter. Perfect! I paired it with a delicious homemade mango salsa which I will post the recipe for following this post. I hope you enjoy this dish as much as we do!

*** I also paired the fish with oven roasted asparagus. place the asparagus in a baking sheet drizzle with a little bit of olive oil and sprinkle with coarse sea salt (any salt will work but I love using the coarse sea salt) bake in the oven at 425 for about 15 mins. ***

Ingredients

6 salmon fillets (6oz each) – i used king salmon

salt and pepper to taste

1 tsp of both freshly grated ginger and garlic

3/4 cup of brown sugar

handful of coarsely chopped pecans

2 tbsp of coconut oil

Preheat your oven to 425. Place your salmon fillets in a baking dish and add a generous pinch of salt and pepper to coat the fillets. Add your ginger and garlic to the fillets. In a bowl combine your pecans, brown sugar and coconut oil to form a paste. Place the mixture over top of the fillets and pat it down to ensure good coverage. Pop the baking dish in the oven for about 20 mins. The brown sugar mixture will bake and bubble up to form the most delicious crust on top of the salmon. Its that easy! Yummy! (serves 6!)

Try it and comment below and let me know what you think :) Be sure to top it with the mango salsa. It is such a good pairing! Enjoy!

24 Til’ 24

So… I’m turning 24 in exactly 24 hours! I can’t believe it. I’ve learned so much this past year. I’ve some how grown to feel comfortable with myself/ in my own skin. I think it has something to do with motherhood and realizing that I can’t control every situation and everything that happens. I’ve become a go with the flow kind of gal… somewhat. The small things make me happy now. A baby giggle, a smile, a hug, dinner(while watching our favorite show during Riley’s nap time) and  prayer with my husband. Those are the things that truly bring joy into my life at this point. I’ve had to change my career path over the past couple of years. I am completely at peace with that decision and feel like i’ve found my way now through a lot of prayer and a lot of living in the moment and enjoying what God has placed in front of me. At this point being able to cherish the priceless moments with my little family is the best birthday gift I could ask for and I am so grateful that I get to do that. It’s going to be interesting to see what 24 has in store for me. I’m ready for ya so BRING IT ON!

We celebrated a a little early since Stephen has a game on my actual birthday. We went to my favorite restaurant… wait for it… OSHA THAI on 2nd street in San Francisco. I love that place. We definitely over ate and I have no problems with that. We had bacon wrapped scallops, crispy calamari and ahi tuna for appetizers. For dinner we had Kurobuta pork belly, crab fried rice and a land and sea mix of sea bass and filet! Oh and sangria to drink!!! Needless to say after all of that I was stuffed (and still am). I ALWAYS have room for dessert though. I actually look at the dessert menu before the actual dinner menu (anybody else do that?!). I had a chocolate soufflé with thai tea ice cream for dessert. I ate it so fast that I forgot to take a picture! I want to thank my husband for making me a happy lady and taking me to my favorite restaurant tonight, and also to Riley for sleeping through the whole meal! I’ve attached a couple of iPhone photos from the evening. Enjoy!

Birthday In The Bay

This past sunday I threw my husband a surprise 25th birthday party (today is his actual birthday)! It was amazing. We spent the early evening on a boat with family, friends, good food, music and of course some dancing. We had a wonderful time and Stephen even got to steer the boat!

I can’t believe that my husband is 25 already! Time sure does fly! Luckily we’ve spent our years we’ve been together laughing, loving and enjoying everything that has come our way both good and bad. I love him with all of my heart and can’t wait to see what the next 25 years have in store for both him and our little family. He’s already grown into such an amazing husband, father, son, brother, friend and overall human being. I can’t imagine him being any better than he is today, but somehow each day he surprises me with his humble and bright spirit  making me even happier and more in love with him than I was the day before.

Happy Birthday Stephen! I love you more than “fried chicken, tater cakes and apple sauce”!!! :)

Here are a couple of photos from the party.

Enjoy!
